Los Angeles!

We conquered LA in the day and a half we were there. We had great food, saw cool things and listened to boom-boom-pow about five hundred times. I couldn’t think of a better mini-vacation. *elbow-fives*

Last night was the first of the club shows in Pomona, CA at the Glass House (which is ironically made of concrete). The show was sold out, and the place shook as they played the opening riff to ‘who I am’. Actor, Tom Wilson (Biff), was at the show which was really cool. Appearances by Andy Barron, Jered Scott and Michael Schneider. I fell asleep immediately after getting on the bus, and I woke up to 94 degrees of Bakersfield weather. The only thing I didn’t mind was eating Baja Fresh and trying out Juice It Up, which was fantastical.

This is what happens on random hills in western kentucky at 5am.

In addition, there are other ways of entertaining yourself on flights to the black hills.

Lexing’ton of amps.

Today I went to Wilcutt Music to play on some boutique amplifiers. I was quite impressed with the selection of stuff to play on and how friendly those guys are. Originally, I wanted to try out a Dr. Z Mazerati and the Galaxie. My reasoning for staying away from the prescription was linked to its popularity and co-designer. But wow, I got to sit down with a tele and jam out on it for about 20 minutes, and I absolutely dig it. It blew the other two away! For me I didn’t feel like it was an AC30 at all, it had a lot more bottom and the high’s would take your head off. The other thing I loved was the boost, much like the effects bypass on some other class A amps. It had ample amounts of teethy gain and I felt like it could make someone cry in the right guitarists hands (not me).

All in all, I have the Brutus and Dr. Z as my top wants right now – once the tyler’caster is complete. But after all this guitar stuff, I need to buy some property in Lexington. Or at least that would be smart…

Matt was having some personal issues with this yellow shirt – so I stepped in. I’ve done some extensive research (about three minutes; give or take) on my newly acquired t-shirt. Unfortunately I have come up empty handed in figuring out quite what it means. I was hoping for some type of ironic or clever anagram, but I am pretty sure its straight forward and to the point. Lucky for me, I have a limited number of S.T.T.P shirts, so this kicked off a good day in Nashville.

Relient K has a show at Busch Gardens in Tampa this weekend, so we’re going to catch up to bus call later this evening and hit the road. Last time I was in the great state of Florida, I saw a DeLorean with a Mr.Fusion and pictures to prove it. I may not be as fortunate this go around, but if I find time between re-stocking shirts, I’d love to go pet a tiger. Can I do that?

Chris and I are starting a side-project. I’m looking forward to recording something.
