This is for all you guitar geeks!

So, I have started project Tyler-Caster. Wait, that’s kind of a dumb project name. I think I’ll just stick with project ‘cost too much money to build your own custom telecaster and I should have thought this over more than once’.

This body is a multi-piece swamp ash body built by Brian Poe. This has a slightly less than 1/8″ radius which was typical of early 50’s Telecasters. I also had the radius at the neck pocket a bit deeper which matches the same time frame. For the most part, the body has near exact measurements of the original bodies you would find on a 52′ or 53′ Fender Tele.

The grain is beautiful, I kind of hated to cover it up with paint – as I am painting it in a Lake Placid Blue Metallic, not to be confused with the nasty dark blue found on early 90’s squire tele’s. Gross. I’m happy to say that the body and neck are in the hands of great people at RS Guitar Works in Winchester. Joe Perry’s strat was being doctored when I brought my pieces in. They must know what they’re doing.

I’ll upload some pictures of the neck soon. It was built by USACG. I’ll also give you the nitty gritty on the specs for the neck. It will make you cry. But a happy type of cry.
