Cleveland Blues.
Today I am in Cleveland, OH.
The House of Blues venues are always great. The catering is swell, the people are polite and normally they don’t give me a hard time with merchandise. There was a Starbucks right across the street as well, and the lady gave me a free double shot on ice – oh’ how nice.
We have just a few more shows before I get back to Louisville for a week or so. I’m excited about that for many reasons. Family, Dog, Girl, Band. I have to play some Ultimate as well, because I’ve just been practicing catch and release stuff with Matt. We’re getting pretty good on our tricks though, eight times out of ten (or fifteen depending on the phase of the moon) I can launch a disc at his waist and he can jump up and catch the disc under his legs from the back. It’s pretty much the coolest thing executed correctly. Incorrectly, well lets just say we still look cool. Maybe.
Scotty, our road manager-guru, is at a wedding for a couple days. We were left to run this show on our own. Things are going smoothly though – - show must go on.
I had a bad experience with water bottles and cardboard just the other night. I also played a game of Poker with some of the guys on the tour. I was 4th out of nine. I’ve done better, I promise. That night just wasn’t good for me. I went all in on suited King-Ten. The one contender, Kevin from This Providence, had Jack-Three. Flop was two suited in my favor plus a 10, looking good. The Turn was nothing. The river was a J, no suit. WHAT THE CRAP!?
You go big or you go home.
I went to my bunk.
Until next time, here is a picture of Andy with a gotee…
My phone calls people now…
I’m not saying I didn’t like my iPhone. I actually love it, it just doesn’t do half the things I required of it – being hacked. Our bus was conveniently parked next to a T-mobile store today. Even more conveniently, the new G1 was released. So I meandered over, and puchased the baby. So, yea… its kinda cool.
Day Off – N.Y.
So, my day off brought me to the big apple. While the rest of the crew was sound-checking at madison square ‘gardens, (which is different from madison square I found out), I was busy sight seeing and visiting cool places. I have documented my travels in a 30-second clip. The rest of my footage was used in a feature film not to be released publicly.
Worcester, MA
Today is Mass. It’s always a good time here. I have good luck in this state.
Last night, I visited the second largest mall in America, and did not buy a single thing except for a pizza. So there’s two points for me having some will power. It was a pretty awesome place though. Apple has come out with the new macbook pro, and I kind of want it. Hoopes, James and I somehow set off two alarms at the Apple store. After that, we decided to leave before they called security or kicked us out. We later grabbed dinner with some of the House of Heroes guys. We bashed the trendy pop-rock bands and shared cheesecake. That was my day.
Planes & Pumpkins
I feel like my head is caving in. Ever had a helmet to helmet collison, minus the helmets? I did. Crap.
Oh, it’s official. So here’s the quick story. I’ve been hanging out with this amazing girl for quite awhile. Her name is Allison, and she is alot of fun to be around. Something about her energy or smile, I don’t know, but I love it. For the Halloween season we made the two best looking pumpkins ever. Hers was a cat and mine was the headless horseman. We would have won a contest if we had entered one, hands down! Anyways, I’ve always enjoyed her company ever since I started hanging out with her. So after taking my sweet time, I asked her to ‘officially’ be my girlfriend. I hadn’t done that since high school, so it was all in poised un-confidence for me. Ha. But yea, we’re the coolest kids on the block now – - she just smiled and say “Yes!”.
After the most reluctant and hectic weekend back home, I am flying out to Philly in the morning to hook up with my road friends on the Relient K tour. I’m pumped about these last two weeks and making more friends. Then I’m coming back home to vote for the McCain/Palin ticket. Yea, that’s right…
Obama? More like dumb llama…

5am Photos.
I drove back home for a few days to attend my sisters wedding. She is now Whitney Thompson, which is kind of strange to me (the name) – but it seems like they are real happy which is a great thing. The wedding went well, and my tux actually fit. It was hot as crap, but I wasn’t wearing pirate pants like I’ve heard stories of.
The band also did a really early photo shoot for the album with our photographer, Billy Grubbs. I think he did an amazing job and I think this will add alot to our record with the photography looking good. We got alot of great shots, and used a 100 or more red balloons. Interesting.
I will fly back in to Allentown, PA to pick back up on the Relient K fall tour. Should be fun…
blah.
Heavy Construction starting now.
Props to Warne!
